Great Little Campground
All the details on our stay at Anvil Campground: https://thetravelingdays.com/anvil-campground-williamsburg-va/
We had an amazing weekend at Anvil Campground in Williamsburg, VA. Campground is on the smaller side but very clean and well kept. Our group had 3 premium lots together and we had a great ‘backyard’ area. Cute store with necessities, pool, kids playground with zip line, bath houses, arcade room, laundry room, and 2 dog parks. Campground was within 15 minutes of everything we wanted to do (Water Country USA, Busch Gardens, GoApe Ziplining, Capt George’s seafood buffet, and any store you need to go to)! The campground is in between a road and a railroad. Our site backed to the road but there was a tall privacy fence and car noise was very minimal. We loved the train coming through. You can see and hear it throughout the day and it was a highlight for all the kids!

All of reviews were correct, very clean, neat ,friendly staff. Did not use bathhouse, the trains were noisy but you get used to them. The shuttle didn't work for us. Overall a great place to camp.

Cute Little Campground
We arrived on Saturday, to a great staff for sign in. They were able to put me in a very roomy spot (#10) atthe end of the tent row. I couldnt have been happier! Backed the class c into the spot, and got it pretty much leveled up (it took two sets of leveling blocks to get 'close enough'.) While its true the railroad tracks are close (as a railfan, that counts as a plus) they are rare, and did not disturb our sleep. The bathrooms were not mopped out until monday morning, so the floors were muddy as it was a wet weekend. But monday morning, they were cleaned and the showers were nice. We are an older couple with no kids, so seeing the number of play areas this place had was nice, as it kept the kids occupied, and out of trouble. The larger sites had nice wooden swings and fire rings. This was my wifes first time in the RV and the trip was a big success, thanks in part to this family oriented campground.

Perfect place to stay to see Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. Outdoor pool, great staff and spotless facilities. Yes there is a train, but it only goes by once or twice a day. We never even noticed ot after the first time.
They just upgraded some of the sites to include new fire pits and furniture.
We will definately be back.

Very nice campground that was well maintained and clean. Bath houses were in good repair and better then most.
The train was not as bad a people in the reviews make it out to be and neither is the traffic. The proximity to all that Williamsburg has to offer more then makes up for it.
We stayed on the side with the road and slept well. Friendly staff and my dogs loved the dog park.

Great Clean Campground
This is a super great campground! It is a smaller campground but has everything you would need and want. There is a pool and grilling area as well as a beach playground for the kids with a zip line. This was a nice little treasure that we found and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly! The train was not that bad. It went through a couple of times but was not that distracting. Great place to stay!

Most Beautiful, Friendly, Clean Park!!
You will not find a nicer park. One if the highest rated GS parks in the country. They have been here longer than all but a few parks in the country. 64 years!
High-end hotel style bathhouse, amazing Wi-Fi, the best utility hook ups I have seen. The only campground right in Williamsburg, so close I can bike to a lot of things. Only park with shuttle services here. The staff are over-the-top friendly and knowledgeable. We saw their rentals and they are of course beautiful too. Everything is as close to perfect as possible and clean, clean, clean. I will always recommend Anvil to everyone!

Not To Bad.
People seem to focus on the train. Not that bad . Very clean. Close to everything. And the people are very nice. I would go back for sure.

Close To Everything
Stayed 5 nights. Great campground, clean, friendly and close to everything you watd to see in historical Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. Yes a train does go through every so often but it did not bother us at all. Only one comment i wish that the small RV sites were not stone only, a little grass would have been nice. We recommend this gem.

Everyone was really friendly here, and the campground was close to Colonial Williamsburg which was nice. However the sites are really tight, and the train was just too loud for us. The train came by several time during the night and you cannot miss it. They also advertise a shuttle to colonial Williamsburg, but it is actually the city bus, which wasn't super reliable, or direct.

There is a train on one side and a semi busy road on the other. The noise did not really bother us too much. It was worth it to us to be so close to Williamsburg. Super friendly staff. Would for sure stay here again.

They fail to tell you about the freight train that runs every couple of hours all night long.
