Past It’s Prime…Neglected

Such beautiful scenery and such a super facility that has not been taken care of! The Bathhouses actually state they are only cleaned periodically…scary to be sure. Which is an excuse to not clean them at all. The grass is overgrown. The swim area bathhouse is closed and wood bees are eating holes in it! Ranger House of course is closed. A real shame because in its prime this must have just been lovely.

Beautiful Campground

This is my first trip to Tioga-Hammond. Several years back I visited nearby Cowenesque Campground, which was quite nice. Past experiences led me to Tioga-Hammond. A visit to this area in the fall will get you spectacular views of the mountains of southern New York and Northern Pennsylvania. The campsites are 50+ feet apart in a manicured setting, reminescent of a golf course. Another reviewer stated the government got it right, that is an understatement. This is one of the most beautiful, clean and spacious campgrounds I have ever seen. Did I mention the lake? Or the the beautiful boat launch area? And the spacious parking for boat trailers? Definite repeater.

What can I say about a near perfect campground. In this case, the government got it right, especially for those of us with a Second for National Park Pass. I'll be back as soon as I can get in.

Been here twice. I'll be back as often as I can. Lots of room. Paved roads and pads. Clean clean clean.

Great Spot!

Nice campground, fairly spacious with quite a few full hook up sites. Beautiful area.
