Nice Spot
Stayed over night $14 (plus $4 reservations fee so $18 with electric) in end October. From October to May you must check in by 5pm. Can't leave campgrounds after 5 pm during out of season but you can leave car out front till next morning I think. We came in at 8pm and gate eas locked luckily we found the.camphost who let us in. Nice spot for an overnight or 2.

I Like It
I spent 12 days here and I liked it. Most all sites are level and almost every site has a water spigot. Quite a few electric sites. I mostly stayed in the south loop. Some sites have some shade and all have a cassita over the picnic table. Flush and vault toilets. Hot showers. Several TV and radio stations. Excellent cell service. Las Vegas is only 3 miles away, as is the Super Walmart. The lake isn't very impressive, but the area is very picturesque with large green meadows and small mountains. Some reviewers have complained about the gate being locked at night, but I see that as a plus. Unfortunately, almost all campsites are reservable thru Reserve America with very few walk-ins. They allow primative camping on the grass meadows around the lake and quite a few people do that. Lakeside boondocking in a state park.

Stopped overnight on our way from Santa Fe to Colorado. Nice level sites with great adobe shelters. It was very windy so this was appreciated. Lake was low but we could hear the geese in the morning. Comfort station was closed for maintenance.

A Gem
We used this as an easy stopping point on our way north and loved it. Inexpensive, water and electric at site, great views of the lake and mountains to the west. It was a good staging spot for doing the Enchanted Circle. Would definitely stay here again.

So So
Decent little campground, pretty well kept. We stayed here overnight on our way from Colorado to Santa Fe New Mexico. There are $8 primitive sites, $10 water only sites, and $14 water electric sites. There is a dump station on site as well. There is a nice little playground for the kiddos. Each site has a little shelter with a picnic table and fire ring. If you book online there is a $4 reservation fee. BE AWARE THAT THEY CLOSE THE ENTRANCE GATE TO VEHICLES AT 5:00 P.M. you may still exit but you cannot get back in with your vehicle. You would be able to park and then walk back in.

Gates Locked!
We had a reservation but the gate is locked and no way in. We arrived at 10 pm. So much for having a reserved campsite tonight.

Rough And Tumble
Some sites have power, but water is communal. Dusty and little privacy. Gates are closed at 5. If you wanted to go to town, you would be SOL. Exit has one-way spikes.

$14 a night; gates close at 5pm - little early, but get it, it gets dark early.

Awesome Spot!
Beautiful, well priced, plenty of protection from the shade via a large adobi shelter over the pinic table (for non-primitive camp sites). You can swim too! And almost no bugs, and no mosquitos to speak of! Bathrooms we're very clean. Note it was almost completely full except for primitive camp sites. (July 10th) Primitive - $8 Adobi + Water - $10 Adobi + Water + Electricity - $14-18 Gate closes at 9pm in summer

Boondocking Lakeside!
Went here planning to stay in a spot but they were all taken. So we took advantage of our NM Annual Camping Permit and enjoyed a fairly level grass field 100 yards from the lake. Ended up staying the entire 14-day limit. Some electric sites were vacated during the week but it was so tranquil we stayed primitive. Would have given it 5 stars except dump station was closed. Fresh water was available though and the bathrooms/showers were very clean when we wanted to avoid using our tanks. The entrance gate is closed at 730pm during the season and closed at 5 pm during the winter.

Tough CG
CG located between the HWY and the lake. Speed bumps galore. Large potholes in the gravel cg roads. Gates close at 5pm. Turned around and left.
