Eagle Cliff

This is our second time in two weeks (Sept 2026) staying at Eagle Cliff. The staff are wonderful and the campsites are well maintained. We always heavily weigh cleanliness, including bathrooms, as an important benefit and Eagle Cliff excels. The campground is on the south side of the Root River and there is a short (maybe 6/10ths of a mile) ride along a paved road to get to Whalan and the bridge crossing the river to get to the Root River trail but the traffic seems to be very light during weekday daylight hours. The campground is only a few miles from Lanesboro and several restaurant/coffee shop options, some shopping and the Commonweal theater, which has performances Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. We have also stayed at the nearby Old Barn Campground which is a nice option with a few more on-site amenities including direct access to the bike trail but Eagle Cliff is a strong alternative that we thoroughly enjoy! We will be back.

Cost 2 Nights To Cancel Reservation

I think charging two nights to cancel a four night stay is a bit outrageous. They only charged me one night to make the registration to begin with, so it’s a swindle. Would recommend campers find somewhere else to camp.

Nice Campground, Not Staff

The campground has nice large sites and great access to root river. The shower houses are updated and very nice. Nice large rainbow plsyground. Sites and campground are well maintained. Only port-a-potties at most areas of the campground. Staff not overly friendly and pretty strict about how you set up your site.

Marvelous

We have camped here multiple times a year for over ten years now and it is one of our favorite campgrounds, this in spite of it being a fairly large on. Bathrooms are always cleaned multiple time a day and evening. Grounds are always well manicured, numerous opportunities exist for your enjoyment and entertainment and loud parties are not tolerated after hours. We LOVE THIS CAMPGROUND!

We thought this place was very good. Family camping from tents to large RV's with fairly spacious sites, with plenty of lush grass, and many trees. Tons of river activity right at the grounds. Much to do and see in area.
