Best Spot In The Park
We are lucky to have received campsite 19 which backs up to the river. We think it is the best. I think site 16 which is easier for some to get into, is also excellent. Very private with lots of foliage and close to shore fishing and large, clean restrooms. There are many white squirrels in this park as well as white deer. We have never seen these before. We love it!

Small RV Parks Lot To Do
Well I came to this park knowing that the lots were tight for fifth wheels and actually found site 9 to be a 35 lot which with all the buches and the curve it makes it really hard to get. But we made. And since is so bushy makes it Very private.. Actually site 6, 7 and even 8 are the biggest in that curve... also found that if you head to the exit 28 & 30 are descent size also. The bathroom were very clean and are next to the 3 concrete floor for handicaps which I believe is great location since the host Park front of those restrooms and though the women bathroom is on the back.. I guess to give more privacy I guess would not be safe if you are alone or in night time.. that’s why you’ll have to use your own RV restroom if you are at one.. the walking trial are well kept and the ranger are very friendly and willing to help if needed. Overall is a great activity park with fishing, canoeing and lots of activities for kids and grown up family sharing.

I don’t recommend this park for larger RV’s. We have a 32ft 5th wheel and had a hard time getting in site 8. It’s a beautiful site with great views, but tight getting into. Sites are close together with no privacy. The park is miles from a store and laundromat.

Disappointing Campsites
Campground was small and sites crammed together with little to no privacy. Dirt road through CG was very tight, bathrooms old but clean, electric and water, dumpstation. Day use area really pretty, pavilions very old and a bit rough. River and trails are nice, but definitely not as nice as many state parks. Seems more like a state forest or management area and should be cheaper than it is. Attendant at gate friendly and quick easy check in. Would not go out of the way to stay here.

Contrary to other reviews, with much older dates, we found this to be a joke for a state park. It should be closed. We arrived after checkin, stayed the night, left the next morning, paid in envelope and never saw an attendant. Park is in the middle of a palmetto scrub. Women's restroom is on the side of the woods, no security. The bathrooms were mostly non functional. Two of the three showers had no water. The dumpster had something that smelled like a dead animal in it, that wreaked all over our site. Other than that it was a decent place.

Needs Some Work.
We had a beautiful site. Number 6. Deer came right into the site and our cats were mesmerized by them. Just be aware, if it rains hard, your site will be flooded. Bathrooms need some kind of heat in them when taking a shower but, other than that, they were clean. The road around camp needs grading, Bad! Big ruts in the road. It was quiet, even on the weekends.

Small But Beautiful-Wildlife Galore
What a quaint little state park! Small sites so take caution if your in a big rig. Our 5th wheel is 35 feet so we had only a couple spots to choose from. Lots of trails to walk to ride your bike. Full of wildlife! We saw a lot of doe and one buck, the famous white squirrels and tons of birds. We also met a few couples that were there to specifically bird watch. The bathrooms are outdated but clean and there is no laundry. We were so happy we gave this park a chance because we really enjoyed our stay, there rangers we also very nice and excited to talk about their park.
