Wonderful Spot
We have a weekend camper and use it for safe trips during the Covid limitations. We love to escape to places within an hour or two from home.
We have now stayed at Thornhill Broome a couple of times and this is by far our favorite local campsite. The camp is fenced off from the Hwy so there are usually only campers on the beach. PCH is noisy, but you get used to it.
We go expecting to dry camp so the lack of facilities are fine with us. There are many portable toilets and 1 water source by the gate as well as a rinsing shower on the beach in the same area. The ranger let us know we could empty out tanks at Sycamore Canyon campsite, a mile down the road which was a bonus.
It isn't easy getting reservations, but if you have the chance to spend some time at this site, we highly recommend TB!

Camping On The Beach
We just camped here with our 19’ travel trailer. Very simple camp sites parallel to the beach. Portable toilets and no water. We enjoyed our stay with the million dollar view.

Whales!
Been here a few times. Its loud in a tent in the wind, and it can get windy.
One time we had whales swimming about 200 feet off the beach! Sea lions and dolphins common.

Nice 1st Time Experience
Beautiful beach, very clean. Really enjoyed the sounds of the waves to sleep to, but traffic from PCH during commuter times a bit distracting. Dry camp, water available. No generators 8pm to 10 am. As newbies, it was a little troublesome but will be more prepared next time. And we will be back! ❤️

Great Camping By The Ocean
And good hiking, a few great trails right out of the park at La Jolla canyon. They finally fixed the cell service. I am getting good data connection. It is windy though.
There is no dump here, just water.

Fall Short Of Expectation In service
Very good looking camping site right next to beach but reality experience fell well short. Noisy from ocean wave and incessant traffic during night sleep even sighs proof headphone doesn't help. Worst part realized next day , despite all the shortcoming, that I decided extending 1 more day and prepped whole day, but scumbag called Noah at the entrance denied extending when asked for the first evening telling me I have to come next morning at the next morning he disappeared from this post early 8am when came back 3rd time to extend he fucking enjoyed telling no spot is available. 3 tries and he failed all 3 times. This service person is compete A$$hole.

Great park with friendly Rangers on staff and clean restrooms. No dump station and bad cell phone service due to the mountains but that maybe the beauty of being "disconnected". Only one outside shower in the reservation section and no real area to comfortably turn around once you get to the end of both campsite locations, doable but can be tricky depending on sand in the area. Stayed here 3 nights and the family loved it, Excellent view of the ocean being right on the beach, look forward to staying again.
