Yikes
The campground is in dire need of some TLC. Didn’t look like the grass had been mowed all year. The ruts from rain runoff is out of control. I was seriously concerned about dragging my camper bumper driving through the campground looking for a site. About 1/3 of the sites are “defective” aka black trash bags cover the power poles. Many sites are covered in mud from the rain runoff. This campground is definitely quite if that’s what your looking for. Bath houses are old but clean. The only staff person I saw was the lady at the rough looking guard “shack” and she was pleasant. About 25 minutes from Lynchburg.

Not Close to Much
Stayed 4 nights as part of our Thousand Trails membership. We wanted 50amp (instead of 30amp) so we paid a nightly fee of $3 to have them unlock a power box with 50amp. Full hookups (water, sewer, 50amp). Water pressure was pretty weak at a max 38psi. It's a bit of a drive to get here and depending on which direction you approach from you'll end up navigating some smaller farm roads with dips and turns. But the approach into the campground is beautiful and the views of the lake are nice. We ended up finding a somewhat level spot with some shade and room to setup the hammocks. Most sites are dirt and very unlevel. Our neighbors told us that the campground put some gravel on our site the morning we arrived after the last customer had difficultly leaving with so much mud after a rainstorm.

Can't Wait To Leave
Upon arriving there's a security gate, but no one was there. I had to call on a walkie talkie and wait 10 minutes for someone to come. She referred to me as " oh. You're a retail." Since I'm not a member. Hands me a map with a quick direction and says to pick one and that was it for courtesy. Huge campground...1 smelly washer. 2 small dryers. One only works on 1 heat setting. I was told I'd have full hook up but really couldn't figure out which sites I was allowed on. There are cigarette butts everywhere. This place put me off from the 1000 trails thing. Only gave 1 star because zero isn't an option

This is a jewel of a campground. It is quite and a picture of country charm. We have stayed there the last two years and planning on going back this year.

Way Out In The Country
Had I known it was that far to the park we would have skipped it. Destination park. But it was really quite. 30 amp only. Gravel roads and sites. Friendly folks.
