Nice Park Outstanding Bathrooms
Nice park. Has beautiful kids playground, pool, and nice campsites. Full hookup sites, at least most I saw, have individual sewer hookup. Bathrooms are great. Modern, clean, with A/C, showers, soap dispenser at sinks. Even a baby changing station. Only downside is noise from nearby state highways and jets on landing pattern for Austin airport.

Very nice park, beatiful views, quiet for the most part, easy in and out, all pavement. My only problem with it was the treatment the give veterans. NO veterans discount unless you are 60% or great and you have to have origional va issued paperwork! This is bs, it's bad enough that Texas won't honor senior passes, but this is real BS at its best. I'm 10% disabled, but that dosent matter, what about all the vets that were lucky enough to come out unscaved? Why the hell can't they be honored too, not just the disabled...I don't get it...sorry but it's a pet pieve with me...

Great Park.
Nice Park. Well maintained and clean bathrooms. Still recovering from a fire. Nice hiking trail leading to a scenic view point.

Nice, Clean, New
We were passing through and decided to spend the night here in April of 2018. The park have been ravaged by fire a few years ago but is recovering nicely. We could tell that a lot of money has been spent to recover from the fires and saw new blacktop roads everywhere and even a new bath house. We stayed at the Copperas creek camping area which is down at a lower elevation and a little close to the highway. We could hear the highway noises from this site but it wasn't bad. We also looked at the Piney Hill camping area which was all pull throughs. It was nice as well but not quite as wooded. The park had a lot of hiking trails all through it and the roads are great for biking. There's a neat Scenic Overlook on the North End of the park. We went there at night and it was really pretty. If we weren't on a schedule we would have stayed a few more days.
