Nice Campground
If you camp in 1-43 it is less crowded than the upper level. Not much room for our vehicle but we squeezed it in beside us. Very quiet, well kept. Lots of trees and woods. We had full hookups. Not sure why they dont advertise that. I was expecting only W/E. Easy in and out from interstate. Close to grocery and shops. Would definitely return.

Tight
Reasonably priced but many RV sites had odd orientations. You backed just barely off the road & almost parallel to it with just enough room for cars to get through. Was concerned our slide out would interfere with traffic but it was ok. Hook-ups are on the wrong side-bring long hoses for water, no septic hookup. Amenities were outdated-picnic table had a rotten top. The lake is nice & we waded in it to cool off. Golf course was nicely maintained but the hills present challenges for finding the pin & balls. Pool was closed due to COVID. Park rangers offer some guided hikes that were nice with scenic views.

Need to research the park before you make reservations as some of the sights are small. I chose our site a few months prior and couldn’t have had a better location. The park is clean and well maintained. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay there again.

Campground Terrible, Park Nice
The campground is probably the worst I have seen in any state park system (and we have been through 24 states). Only because it has electric, water, and dump station does it get 2 stars. Sites are so packed tightly in very narrow spaces. I am literally along side a road with neighbors on 3 sides. When we open our door there is maybe 8 inches to step then a hill to our neighbors roof. Very few sites are desirable, feels like a ragged trailer park left to fall apart. There are trails and the lake, but other than that not worth the drive. Worse than we had expected reading google reviews.

Great Playground
There are a number of sites that you could not get an RV into, so be careful on site selection. The park is beautiful with a lake, swimming pool, golf course and many trails. The play ground that was so impressive was one that is designed for persons with disabilities and it is based off the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. It is a must see. Will have to come back, after four days, still didn't get to everything.

Great Staff!
Ok sites were small but shaded well. Basic amenities but staff was amazing!!! Quick storm hit while we were there and the damage was rough but everyone picked up chainsaws and helped clear the road like it was their job!

Nice State Park
Campground gets very crowded, but nice. Golf course is good for a state park. Weekend of Halloween is very fun. Have a contest for best decorations, kids trick or treat in the campground.

Tent Camping With Kids
We camped in section A. There is a lovely playground in the center of this section. In the background of my picture (beagle in middle), you can see the restrooms. There were individual restrooms (not stalls). There is a shower with a shower seat. A wide bench is in each for getting dressed. We found it to be family-friendly. The other campers were quiet at bedtime. Lots of people jogging and riding bikes. Some were fishing down by the lake. Positives: warm bathrooms with showers. water and electric at campsite. Playground. Grill. Some spots have a firepit. Negatives: not all spots have grassy areas for setting up at tent. Hard to find a flat spot for a tent.
