This is a former TVA campground. It’s much more like a state park than a typical KOA. Key to your enjoyment here is to know what you’re getting. The sites are kinda spread out, they are gravel. Unlike most KOAs you are not on top of your neighbors. It’s quiet and peaceful. Electric was 50 amp and stable, they had a pump truck Sunday and Thursday for $16. The bathrooms are what you’d expect from a former TVA campground, clean but nothing to brag on. The amenities are dated. The beach could use a few truck loads of sand for certain. The gates are tight but I fit with a TOAD so you can too! But the staff is amazing and doing as good as anyone with an older facility. Brandon was our maintenance guy and very helpful. His wife Lydia runs the store and was really nice as well. Brittany is the manager and made sure our kids stayed full of ice cream! Overall, if I wanted a quiet low key weekend getaway with some fishing, I’d go back. 5 stars staff, 3 stars facility, 4 star weekend.
