Free Camping

Well-maintained, wide gravel road leads to at least 2 major roads/ loops that have numerous campsites with lake views. Picnic tables and dirt driveways clearly mark where camping is allowed. We stayed on the northern peninsula in a spot surrounded by trees with a private beach. It was mid-May so a lot of spots where very muddy, the kind of mud that would get you stuck easily. Vault toilets are scattered in the area, but otherwise there's no amenities. Felt safe and lots of campers around. Many sites had large 5th wheels and class As. Free dump and paid potable water (out of service when we arrived) available at the Tri-state museum in town. Paid campground nearby also has water and dump but unsure of cost.
