Beautiful Upgrades
PA has done a great job upgrading this campground! Great bathrooms with flush toilets and great showers. The laundry room was closed, but as soon as they get it up and running, it will be so convenient. There is also an outdoor stainless steel wash station for doing dishes, if you want. The lake was drained a couple years ago, but they’ve added a ADA pool with lift, but is outside the campground area. You have to drive to it. It’s open only to paying guests & is open Memorial Day-Labor Day. There are trails to hike. Quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. New cabins with cooktop stove and refrigerator. Old cabins have no amenities. Bring your own bedding and towels, dishes, etc. We loved that it is a small campground. Nice big bundles of firewood for $5.

Little Gem
Absolutely a top notch campground. Quiet and clean. Nice hiking trails! PADCNR got this one right. Too bad there are other state park campgrounds that need so much and receive so little! I site Sinnemahonimg state park as an example. Electric sites lose power because system needs upgraded, showers are outdated and this campground needs some attention, but they do have a first class visitor center.

Excellent Upgrades at Ryerson Station!
Pennsylvania invested a few million bucks to update and upgrade this remote gem! New bathrooms, new showers and laundry. Little cabins, firewood for $5 a bundle. Ranger Rob Z is an excellent ambassador for the state and a great and helpful outdoorsman to boot. Mature tree canopy, but still enough sunshine to charge batteries with solar. Spent a great vacation here. Definitely coming back.

This time of year, nothing is open. Ryerson was open with water available as well as electric. We were the only camper except for someone staying in 1 of the two cabins. Plenty of firewood available for $5. It was out of the way but we loved it. We would definitely go back. If you need to use a bathroom hopefully your camper has one as I would not go near the latrines.
