They lost my reservation. Thank goodness i called ahead to confirm, i was told they had no openings for the weekend i was booked. Trish said "i guess youre not staying here" and hung up the phone on me. Not very professional....

Not Recommended For Big Rigs

There is a beautiful view of the lake, and the campground is well maintained. There are 2 nice areas for seasonals at either end of the park which have road access to the individual sites. In between is large grassy area on a hill with 30 amp hookups in a row at the top and 50 amp hookups in a row at the bottom. Our site was at the top of the hill on the grass and it was impossible to level our 41 foot motor home. Our front jack sunk into the grass/topsoil 6 inches overnight. We had to drive down the grassy hill to exit. The sandy beach isn’t accessible; it is apparently below the water line now due to high water levels in the lake. Beware: there is a 10 ton weight limit on the access roads to the campground and when we left via route 5 there was a 13’4” railroad trestle to go under. I wouldn’t stay here again in a big rig.

Virginia's Beach

Very peaceful relaxed setting away from the congestion of presque island area but still with reasonable distance. Right on Lake Erie with full beautiful vistas of the lake.

Close To Nature

If you want to relax and enjoy nature, you're in luck. Although it was drenched after a lot of rain, the grassy camping spots were as good as can be expected for the conditions and it was not difficult to set up camp. Not many camping spots makes every spot a great spot. If you expect a NC beach, you will be disappointed, it is a rocky beach, but the view from the campground is breathtaking. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
