This was the first time we stayed here. When you pull in staff meets you at the main gate and leads you to your site. The staff then saves all marriages by helping you back into your site. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful they will deliver wood and ice to your site. The camp store is very well stocked. The campground activity director is amazing. My children had a blast all weekend. The jumping pillow, pedal cars, laser tag, HEY ride, and basketball court is very nice. The local winery has a stand with very good wine slushies. All rv sites are full hook up with 30/50 amp. The water pressure is very good. Fire rings are all in a very good location on the sites and have stone around them. The sites are fairly level. The campground is very well maintained and extremely clean, one of the cleanest campgrounds we have ever been to. My children asked when we were coming back.

Very clean and well-kept property. There are lots of amenities for the children to do. In fact, my 12-year-old is asking to go back soon. There is laser tag, mini golf, tubing, a swimming pool, a bounce pillow, fishing, and so much more. The only real thing that I will say is that I do not recommend tent camping here. Be wary of which site you get. There is loud train day and night, which was disturbing. Other than that, I would definitely get a cabin or if I had an RV grab a spot further from the river/train. There is a wine shack for adults too.

I don’t normally write reviews, but after reading the two low reviews, I felt compelled to share my thoughts. My family has camped at Buttonwood for 13 seasons now, and have stayed in every area of the park, and we have always enjoyed our stay. The park is well maintained and clean, the employees are helpful, and there are always activities on the weekends. Concerning the railroad track, that is on the other side of the river, over 450 feet from the closest site. While you can hear the trains, we personally find them enjoyable and calming in ways. Speaking of the river, no summer trip is complete without tubing down the Juniata! In summary, the popularity of this campground speaks for itself, and we’ll be returning for years!

The campground brochure stays family friendly and peaceful. No where do the mention that the main railway for the east coast is 100 ft away from the “PREMIUM” riverfront sites. Nor do they tell you that the very long freight trains run day and night and shake the campers. The staff at the office were rude and it was apparent that they know about the noise and quiet frankly just don’t care. Besides the trains, we had a group of people come floating by on the river yelling and cursing. How is this family friendly and peaceful? I feel lied too and deceived by the advertisements of this campground. I will never go back and warn anybody who reads this, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A RIVERFRONT SITE!!!!!

Our favorite site was reserved for weeks . Upon arrival someone was in our site. Management made no effort to make it right. Will not be back!

My husband and I rented a cabin for 2 nights, for our anniversary. We absolutely loved this campground. We stayed in October, and the grounds were decorated beautifully for fall. The cabins were clean and cozy, the staff friendly and very helpful and we loved walking around the campground. We brought our dog and even he had a wonderful time. We definitely will be coming back again...we loved every minute we were here.

When pulling up a worker met us and led us to our site and helped with initial parking. Said whenever you get settled in, come down and check in at the office. We have 3 small children and they had a wonderful time on the playgrounds. Very well maintained campground!
