Clean and Relatively Restful

On the positive side highway 97 is not very busy. The truck lanes are typically sardined and full. Because there's not a great demand the auto area may let you stretch-out but it is closer to the highway. All and all we slept pretty decent - especially considering the homeless camps at most of the places South of here and throughout Bend.

COW CANYON REST AREA

Oregon rest areas allow 12 hours rest. You can sleep in your car, van or camper. No tents. Small rest area on US 97. Traffic noise which settles down late in evening and starts early morning. Separate car and truck parking. Car slots are not long. Trucker section filled up. Only one car and our van in car section all night. Clean bathrooms. Great views.
