Great Campground
Right next to the John Day river, green grass, trees, a swimming hole on the upstream end of the path, never found the end of the path downstream. Clean neat grounds, bathrooms are clean, showers are some of the best. We had hoped to overnight at the rest area but the campground was nearly empty. Not regretting the money spent to camp in the campground at all.

Very nice park. We pulled in at 6pm. Took the last available site. The park is beautiful and clean. Nice walking trails. Little bit of road noise but not bad. Bring your OFF!

Last Minute Oasis
Found this little gem late in the day while travelling home. Only one pull-thru in the park, but it wasn't too bad backing in in the dark. Elec/water only, but that was all we needed. Walked around a bit the next morning. River runs just behind the park, and there were lots of differnt birds. We'd stay here again if going this way.

Nice Campground
We were there 6-21-17 thru 6-25-17. Nice little campground, check in time is 4 p.m. but we noticed it started filling up around 2 to 3 p.m. If it is full check with the Host because they do have an overflow area. It's tight for larger units to back in because some sites are perpendicular to the road. Wood and ice are available. The dumpsite is clean, free, and easily accessible. Prepare yourself for mosquitoes! Verizon 4G coverage. I don't remember what the campground cost. If you stay here you have to drive to Dayville and eat at the Dayville Cafe, their pies are worth the drive! They are known for their Marionberry pies and you won't be let down. Also take a drive to Prairie City, nice little town with several restaurants and gift shops.

Full Time R Vet
If you want a little piece of heaven you need to stay at this park. Clean showers, and no quarters needed, clean bathrooms sited are spaces with lots of green grass and trees. Ask the Rangers for things to see and do.If you like to hike there Strawberry Lake, or Mcgone lake. Lots to see and do so plan at least 2 days.
