The End Of SEPTEMBER
Concrete pads, but not all are level. Electricity but no water and sewer--just a dump station. Sites are not too close together. $28.50 -per night, discounted Monday through Thursday.

Cowan was once a gem campground. Then came the ash borers and wiped out most of the trees. With no enforcement of parking at the sites and loud noise and partying that is not enforced it has turned into a nascar type campground with nascar type clientele .

Nice park and lake. A little out of the way. Back-in sites. Plenty of grass with some shade. We didn't see any sites overlooking the lake, but hiking paths easily get you there. Clean restrooms. Helpful staff.

We were there over the 4th of July weekend in 2015. Place was muddy, bath house was disgusting and we had some loud disrespectful people all around. Store was picked clean but the people at the store were great. Hopefully just a bad weekend... we will give it another try.

Nice Campground For A State Park
Nice quiet place to visit during the time we were here. Nice variety of campsites from fully shaded to full sun, however, there are no full hookups available, electric only with water available about every 200 feet or so.
Commissary is lacking in food staple items but otherwise is clean, like the entire park and staffed by a friendly crew.
There are plenty of playgrounds and basketball courts to keep the kids busy, a nice lake to swim and fish with boat and canoe rentals available. With the rain we've had since we got here, we haven't explored the nature trails, but I don't believe we would be disappointed.
Overall an enjoyable experience and we will definitely be back.
