Pshhh This Location.
The pool here is HUGE and the hot tub is hot! The location makes this camp ground a winner. You couldn’t ask for better beach access. If you want to spend all day relaxing on the beach or next to the pool this is the spot.

Love this KOA I have been coming here for 35 years! Only issue we have is making reservations!!! You can call for hours and days and the line just rings and rings it hard to get anyone to answer.

Great Vacation
Stayed over July 4th. Great beach and pool. Fun KOA activities for families. Nice sites. Easy day trips to explore outer banks. Only issue was a series of power interruptions due to bad wiring on our loop. Would highly recommend for vacation destination.

Great Campground!
We hope this campground is ok. We really love it here. It has everything, but yet isn't too commercialized. The only small issue we had was extending our stay. I went up every day for 3 days trying to extend our stay, only to be told by the same woman every day there were no sites. On the 4th day I went up, another woman was at the desk and she instantly found us a site and said she didn,t know why the other woman had had such an issue. Oh well. Everyone else was wonderful.

Early June Fun
KOA is a great organization and they do a fairly good job with picking campgrounds. We found the Hatteras KOA a little less than what we’ve experienced elsewhere. The outside staff was very friendly and busy and the inside staff seemed lost and uncertain. The beach at this campground is awesome but as with all the beaches along the NC coast, riptides are present and the walkways to the beach are well posted stating such. Cannot blame that on KOA. The two issues I have with this KOA is #1 - unless you pay for an expensive site (and all of them are overpriced), the sites are very tight and #2 - the rules state dogs MUST be kept on a leash, but the staff doesn’t enforce this. People’s dogs wander all about, chase after people, etc and the KOA staff turns a blind eye to it. If you have a pet, respect others and keep it on a leash.

Yes I gave it 5 stars, because it is worth it. I have stayed at the KOA Cape Hatteras several times, every time has been really wonderful. The campground is well-maintained, showers and bath houses are clean as a pin, as are all the facilities at this Campground. The staff here will go out of their way to help you, and or a very nice friendly group of people. If you get a deluxe site it is not cheap but not View that it is worth it. As I write this review I am sitting in a KOA Campground in Mount Pleasant South Carolina wishing I had gone to the Outer Banks.

Great KOA!
On the oceanfront in OBX! Could it get any better. Campground is very well maintained, good access, spacious sites. All the facilities are new (replaced after it was destroyed in the 2011 hurricane). They did a great job rebuilding. Would definitely return.

Wonderful!!
Location, location, location! Arrived after hours but our information package was waiting for us with simple instructions. Site was exactly as advertised: level, gravel, patio with a sun shelter backed onto the dunes. Great staff the next day and a well equipped store. Miles of beach with sand, surf and shells. Close to a beautiful town with every amenity required. Fabulous seafood on site or nearby. Surf fishing. Hatteras Jack's fishing tackle nearby and worth the trip. The drive to this park is an adventure on its own. Good cable, wifi is okay. Pool and hot tub available. Great kids playground. Newly installed parking pads. Oceanside sophistication with an outdoorsy vibe. We will be back and for much longer next time.

Terrible Customer Service
Good luck catching anyone on the phone. We tried for 4 days after making online reservation...different time of the day and always getting voicemail. No one EVER, returned our calls, so started emailing them and never got a return email even to this day. This was a month ago :/ By the 5th day we were able to get someone on the phone and they did not seem to care that we had been trying to reach someone there for 5 days about our reservations. I complained after, had to through email since it was so rare to catch them on phone....and even copied KOA corporate with concern on their lack of customer service. Again no return email or call.

1st Koa Experience
The site is overall pretty nice. You are paying 4 location to the beach. There are some things that are just out of control which I'll explain. We liked the pool had a good size pool for adults and kids, nice slide for kids to enjoy, deck and chairs looked like were brand new and were enough as place wasn't overcrowded. Jacuzzi/spa was really nice and big and also hot only downfall was that the 2nd day there were lots of bugs in it and looked like no one cleaned it or not sure if anyone is there to maintain it daily. Our kids loved the jumpy/bouncy area and a playground which looked lots of kids enjoyed. We also liked that they lots of amenities such as a store to purchase some items needed, small restaurant on site, laundry facilities, soccer field area and site had minimal bugs, the lot for Rv didn't have much privacy and very close to next Rv but again location makes up for it. Be aware no shade and Very windy far from main attractions, check out 12pm, I give 3.5 stars

Great Place No Wifi
We loved our stay there. Been 2 years in a row. Everything is great except the WiFi might as well been non existent. We finally had to turn WiFi off on our phones until we left. Great otherwise.

Exceptional Accommodations
The campground was taken out by Sandy in 2012. Since then, this KOA was rebuilt...and they thought of everything! From services to amenities, things to do, and places to see...stay here for your best vacation ever!!!
