Been here several times and the location is perfect for fishing/ wineries and hiking. The sites are a bit close, very nice creek on most sites. Bathhouse is very nice. Dog park also that is nice Great meadow to play in up top

First And Last Time
We have never felt the need to write a review, until now. The sites are close together - the laundry room ( entitled “bathhouse”) was deplorable; linoleum chipped floor, rundown building, very heavy door, no clean surface to fold clothes, no timers on the washers and dryers, no shut off on the dryer we used when you open the door to check since there is no timer, clothes never did dry in the 2 dryers we used, no change machine, for change you have to walk down the hill to the office and then back up the steep hill again. We were going to stop in the office to tell them my comments in person but felt, like others, the young staff wouldn’t care. In addition, the roads are terrible with large ruts with what appears no replenishment of gravel. Also, It’s very difficult to enter and leave this campground, too much traffic. Only giving 1 star in order to submit this review.

The office staff is too young to understand customer service. Maintenance staff is very helpful. Bathroom is clean and overall, a clean camp ground. Trout pond besides the camp site is outstanding. Laundry machine is a bit dated, but at least it's in good working condition. Can't beat the weather, cool in the morning and very pleasant. Middle of other activities, such as biking and hiking. Will stay again.

We have stayed here many times over 40 years first in a pop-up and now a travel trailer and always on the first row near the creek. The campground is in a good location for us and we have always felt comfortable there. This year we ran into a couple problems. As my husband was maneuvering to park our TT, he made one pull forward to finally place the camper. As he did, he totally hit a BIG rock that had been placed in the opening to a walkway. From the cab of his pick-up, he could not see the rock. I spoke with the girl in the office and she said maybe they should paint the rock. I suggested a flag because you cannot see the rock at all painted or not. When we left, nothing had been done. I will also say, the two girls in the office that we interfaced with were not friendly at all.....not good in the hospitality industry. Disappointed in our latest stay. They are getting rid of their cable tv this year. We also had to back down the road from our camping spot to leave.

Grandfathered Out
After a good stay last season we arrived to a hillside site .Difficult to hook up on slope. Our expected view was totally blocked by an old green moldy rv parked on top of us. Should have never been allowed in. We had planned on staying through the fall but will be leaving asap. Won't be back again.

Frequent Visitors
We like this place and the simple atmosphere. We never have an issue and we typically stay here several times a year, especially during winter when other parks are closed. It's near the Ski Lodges and Grandfather Mountain Park and Trail (plan a ride and hike up the 7 miles). Yes, Previous staff members were more friendly in comparison but it's still a Great place to stay. Our stays are always on the 1st row near office and average 7-10 days. Never had an issue finding it since 1st visit several years ago and never drove a sketchy road. The specialty GPS's and Map books will make sure you use the right roads. We live in a 40' Fifth Wheel...

Roadtrek camper
Campground was hard to find. Views were great but campsites were crowded. Good location for visiting local sights in Boone and Banner Elk.

Address Is Wrong
This campground is in Banner Elk not Boone. This app took us an hour out of the way and to a mountain road not wide enough for RVs.

Great Campground Spectacular Views
I’ve stayed many times over the past 25 Years! From tent sites waking up to a panoramic view of Grandfather mountain to a pop up on the creek. I can’t wait to bring the RV. Good central location too.

Okay Campground.
We were camped backed up to a small creek. The sites were very close together. Cable TV requires a cable box so I didn't bother. The campground wasn't ideal for us, but I would stay again.

Fall Leaves
We stayed 2 nights in peak leaf season. The campground was nice but the bathrooms were dirty and out of paper. Other than that we will be back.
