Park Review

They have a couple of areas, upper electric loop looked good. People were set up down by the lake boondocking, but there was a contractor generator sitting down with them-ouch! Up at the day use area it was nice watching people on the water. Lake looks small and it’s a small drive from the highway probably 10 minutes. Pit toilets here and there a nice bathroom by playground and also a bathhouse not far from there.

Good spot, I'd return. Decent from Grants or i40 big mountain road to get over to here but paved, take ur time. Sites are gravel, not all level be prepared- some have electric reserve ahead them if you need. Dump/water available- flush & plenty of pit toilets. Bathhouse with only 2 or 3 showers available for whole park. Dry camping available alongside the lake. Plenty of nice trees & views oh & plenty of poop from free range animals 😂

Our New Favorite State Park

This is a really nice state park. Lots of vista views of either the lake or the canyon on the backside. I wish the lots were closer to level. No cell service. Tried our luck at fishing but got skunked. A few sites have electric. Fill up with water at the dump station when you come in or pull close to any number of spickets before going to your site. Showers were closed when we were there for no stated reason.

Spotty cell service, but beautiful campground! Playground nice, views of creek pretty. The road coming in has gorgeous views also!

Nice SP

Just pulled in today around 11am and grabbed one of two non-reservable spots (13) offering 50a for our 38' DP. Top off your water tank at one of the many spigots before you park. 15 is also 50a, but has more slope than 13. Many other nice spots. No need to unhook the Road for the drive in off I-40. The restrooms/showers as you enter the park are acceptable. Other larger sites I'd stick my rig into (dry camping) would be 46, 43 (mild slope), for awesome views sites A, B, C, or 41. 1-3 VZ 4G bars, and OATV.

Almost 80 sites total. Some are a bit unlevel but come by about noon and you should have plenty to choose from. Decent hiking and wild horses graze in the campground at times. Nice clean restrooms with free showers near the visitor center. Nice playground.

Looked like a nice park but the non reserveable elec sites were so uneven that even a trailer would find it hard to level.Could not find park host to see if we could stay in an empty reserveable site so left

Gorgeous Camping Site!

I had a lot of choices for my campsite and choose one at the North end of the lake. Very quiet. The south side is beautiful, next to the dam, and seemed to be more popular. Clean vault toilets, didn't use the showers. Friendly staff. Gorgeous hiking trail in Zuni Canyon! They were building new pads and camping spaces when I was there. Great park!

Great park, nice staff! They were paving and upgrading while we were there, but no big deal. Awesome views of the stars, and nice sites.

The park is clean & the recent improvements are great, we will be back
