Quiet And Peaceful
Nice clean campground right off of the road. At 7,600 feet all sites are FCFS, no reservations. The cost is $5 per site per day use or overnight before applying an interagency pass discount. They have posted an increase request to $10 per site and they will likely get it. Even without the water. There are 20 sites including one site for a group. It looks like they have recently updated this campground with concrete molded picnic tables, updated fire rings, grill and tent pads all in new raised level and pea gravel areas. With the kind of investment made, the only thing missing are the bear boxes... and the water. The Ranger advised the update was over 12 years ago and it is still in great shape. I have been to campgrounds with a host that are in worse shape than here, all on the honor system. There are miles of bicycle trails close and some of the outer sites have a trail access right next to or at your site. McGaffey 4 miles farther has some better views.

Loved It!
Stayed the weekend of the 4th and absolutely enjoyed it. Basic dry campground with nice sites and plenty room for our 30ft TT. Most sites are well shaded. We liked this CG better than McGaffey which is about five miles down the road. There is also dispersed camping in the area. Can’t wait to return!!!

Awesome Stay
We were doing Route 66 and needed a place to camp near Gallup. This place popped up on the app and looked great in the photos. We were not disappointed!! In just a few miles, the landscape went from desert to pine forest. A beautiful, clean, well protected from the wind site. Each site had level spots for tents, fire pits, and grills. The bathrooms are clean, just the usual flies you get with a porta potty. At only 5 dollars, this place is a jem. Definitely coming back!

Great Campground
If you like primitive campgrounds with no water this is the one to go to. They have two bathrooms without running water. The picnic tables are nice to cook on and there is a large fire ring for cooking and fires. They have a nice gravel raised site for your tent which will help keep you dry when it rains. The cost is $5 and it is on an honor System. Great campsite!
