Mechanical Breakdown at Cathedral Gorge
We were there 2023. We were looking for a site and were leaving when a tire came off our trailer. The rangers had us back into the open Handicapped site where we had to stay for 7 days. They referred us to a local garage who referred us to a shop in Ceder City for a replacement axel. It took a few days before the garage people could come out to install the new axle. The entire time, Ranger Jake, who I called Jake from State Parks, would stop to see how we were doing. He even brought out some tools so that I could remove the offending axel. Oh, and Cathedral Gourge was fun to explore, and the locals were fantastic. The grocery store had close before we got there. The owner came over and unlocked the door and told me to go ahead and shop. Great State Park and greater people.

meh
It's a decent campground but small. Another reviewer said the sites are roomy and well spaced out but I disagree. They're rather close and the campground is poorly laid out. Poor privacy. Good showers and bathrooms, clean, well maintained, a few overflow sites available. Campground filled with noisy off road vehicles when we visited. Fill your fresh water tank at the dump station located a mile or so before you come to the campground.

Great Park
We have stayed here several times over the years and it has always been a peaceful and quiet environment. This stay was immediately after the Covid shutdown and half of the sites were closed by order of the Governor, not sure why, as none of the sites are very close together. The staff continues to improve the entire park and now has 50 amp power in nearly all of the sites, as well as clean gravel, fire pits and ramada. The fee is $15 + $10 if you use power for a camp spot, no out of state charges that we saw. A good value for a beautiful campground. Make sure you go see the parks main attractions, worth the visit on there own merit.

$27
$27 A night If You're From Out Of State.
Water is a half mile away if you want to fill your tank. Plenty of ants. Not too bad a spot but for$27 go to Young's RV park in caliente for$25. Then you'll get full hook ups, grass, shade trees, all the stuff you need to camp in luxury.

Desert Beauty
This RV park has about 21 spaces. They all have power, 20, 30, and 50 amp. There is no water hookup but you can fill up your water tank at a spigot. There is a sewer dumping station which is free if you stay, but $7 if you are just stopping by to dump. There are several pull-through RV sites and the rest are back-in. It's in a beautiful setting with several hikes from the campground. The campsites also have covered picnic tables and fire pits. They also have free firewood and ask for a $4 donation for an armload.
