Wonderful Surprise

I'm that traveler who heads out on memorial weekend without a plan or reservation. It was close to my designated stopping time (6 p.m.) when I pulled into this rest area to stretch my legs. I first went into the RV parking area, but a I walked around the area I found the camping area. Other than an occasional car driving by on the highway, it was extremely peaceful. There is room for about a dozen campers but there were only 3 others while I was here. No charge. At 6 the maintenance truck came by and emptied trash. Very clean and quiet. No hookups but there is water and a free dump station. I love it!

Still The Same

Everything is as reported a few years ago...free parking, level RV area, picnic tables, shaded grassy area for the kids to stretch their legs, dog park with several openings but no gates, so keep an eye on your fur babies, clean restrooms with flush toilets, dump station with potable water. All free. 5 bars of 5G AT&T. 18 hour stay limit. Sign on the highway just before the entrance says "No Trucks" with a picture of a semi. Thank you Nevada DOT.

Very ? Quiet

Nice area just for RVs. All flat, fairly level. Water spigots and dump station and trash available for free. Dump and water closed for winter as of middle of October.

Just a heads up! The dump station is closed from November to March. Plenty of parking. Good place to stop for a night. www.writeontheroad.com

Great Over-nighter

The rest area is on BLM Land. There is also a LARGE parking area on the west side, adjacent to the rest area, that can hold many rigs. Dump station was open in April 2017.

Camping and Dump Station

There is a place to park 5 or 6 RVs for up to 18 hours for free, with picnic tables and grills. Fresh water is available.There is also a free sewer dump station right on the way out, it's clean and easy to use. There is a sign that says the dump station will close Nov to Mar, but in 2014 I don't think it every closed.
