Nice Campground . . . but
The campground staff and facilities were awesome, but the last five miles of road to get there (3 miles of asphalt and two miles of gravel) were atrocious. The asphalt is falling apart and the shoulder portion was eroding and missing in areas causing you to have to drive in the middle of the road. The gravel portion was worse with washboard conditions so bad you had do drive less then five mph to keep from shaking apart. Without major road improvements we won’t go back.

Beautiful!
FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS FOR GETTING HERE. DO NOT USE GPS This place is beautiful. The restrooms and showers are clean. Camp spots are pretty levels and kept up. The staff is friendly, very helpful and can give you lots of information on Lake McConaughy. We really enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful And Quiet
This place is a gem and one of the nicest campgrounds we have been to since driving from Florida! Clean bathrooms, small but clean laundry room, free DVDs , breakfast Thursday - Sunday , pizza and wings at night! Well groomed landscape, volleyball court, horseshoes, playground, swimming pool and small store if you forgot anything! Picnic tables and fire pits at every site., lots of cute little cabins as well! A short walk to the lake (primitive flat lake front) for a kayak or canoe or boat. People running this were SO pleasant! As said, do NOT follow your GPS if coming from the West, use there directions. Off the beaten path a bit, but worth it for the quietness!! And they accept Passport America members, (maybe others?)

Love Eagle Canyon. Can’t wait to go back this summer. We have a 39’ Discovery and had no trouble getting there. Call and get directions. Don’t rely on you gps, you may not get there.
