McGregor Lake CG, Kootenai NF, MT 3,900’ $20/night Really wonderful place. It’s all first come first served. I see why families have been returning for years. The host is a National Forest employee who has been there over 16 years and is a wonderful woman. 22 sites in the main loop with some having trails to the beach, 5 walk in tent sites. The boat launch and day use area is always busy with people on the beach. Campers are able to have almost the entire beach to themselves or a couple other campers in the early morning or evening. No cell service. This is definitely one of top 10 campgrounds / recreation areas I have stayed in and would highly recommend it.

Tent area is nice

Just a few steps from the lake in the woods, clean, nice hosts. The RV area looked a little grim, lots of rock and not much privacy.
