There are new owners as of two years ago, and they are so friendly and welcoming. I even heard comments from local shop owners that they are so happy the new people took over. The sites are level and good sized. The WiFi is spotty, but you can pick it up it from the visitor center a block away too. There is no cell reception in Copper Harbor, but many businesses offer free WiFi. This campground has a cute little beach with a fun trail to a sandy peninsula. There is access to many biking/hiking trails. We love that it is walking distance to town and Lake Superior.

Good But...
Great location. Cable TV is about 5 obscure channels. Pay attention to lot location. We ended up right across from clubhouse/maintenance shack and had to hear constant motor revving all day. WiFi not the greatest and there is zero cell phone reception. Not sure it was worth $45/night for FHU. Bathrooms and showers were clean.

Great Location
Campground is nice and location is perfect—close to town, close to the trail to Fort Wilkins State Park. Level sites and clean restrooms and showers. Owners have a reputation here as being “contrary” and “downright strange “. I didn’t meet the owners and I travel solo—no pets, no visitors—so I didn’t encounter any additional fees as others mentioned.

Nice, But.....
Nice place, but owners are very petty. Charge $4 for visitors. I saw them kick a nice couple out because their parents came for dinner and didn't pay the $4. Tried to pay but were told to leave. Won't return. Can't tolerate people being so mean. Charged me full price 1st night ($34) to stay in the overflow area with no electricity, water or anything, a parking lot.

Very nice campground but owner has a thing ??? About big rigs. Multiple sites 60 plus feet but says he only has one for RVs over 40 ft. Actually told us he didn't have a spot for us after 3 nights because ours was booked, several empty sites. I guess the place is for sale, wonder why.
