Pretty Nice But We Thought Pricey
Stayed here June 2, 2025
We pulled in kind of late, 6:30 and couldn't believe there was someone to help in the entrance booth. Lots of sites available. No electric or water at sites but we dont need. It had been rainy and muddy so we walked the dog and went to bed early. Mosquitoes and black flies were awful, we wondered if they might have at least a breeze in the field area sites? Showers and bath house were great. We used the dump for emptying gray water and took on fresh water. Packed up and left early the next day and had a quick drive up to top of Mount Battie. The road is in the park. Lots of folks were hiking up or biking. We drove. View from the top is incredible!

It’s A Place To Camp
Our RV site was in a field , thank goodness it was not hot. The noise from Hwy 1 is loud at times and the traffic never stops. Also when it rains the ground is very soft and muddy. Sometimes there is a wiff of sewer. Our first visit to Maine, if we return we will look for a private campground.

Nous étions seulement de passage à ce camping. Nous y avons passé une nuit. Assez rustique et en général tranquille. Nous n'avions pas de réservation et tout ce qui restait est un Camping sans services. Boisé avec intimité. Douche propres séparées et non payantes.

Maine State Parks Overpriced
Nice campground. Not many level sites. Can be noisy with campers.
This campground is worth $25-$30 a night yet we paid $49 a night. Probably won't be going to other Maine State Parks.

Quiet And Clean
We stayed for two nights. Very peaceful and quiet. Firewood a bit $$ at $7 a bundle.
