Nice Clean Spacious CG In Cty Park

Awesome site, with plenty of shade. Level site with fire ring and table. Large county park with river that has boat access. Clean bathrooms. Stayed in a full hook up site, which were great. Had to book and pay online, no check in at CG. No laundry, wifi or cable. Did get 30 channels with antenna tho. A neighbor did say kids were going through sites at 1 am looking to steal tho. Would definitely recommend this hidden gem

Awesome County Park

New area with full hookups just completed, it wasn’t on the reservation site or on line maps. Big park, trials nice facilities, etc. I would recommend.

Wonderful County Park

Hundreds of acres, rolling hills, hiking trails, lots of woods. Electricity only at sites. Many tent sites. Des Moines is a nice town to shop in. Nice place, we'll go back.

Where Do You Pay?

Arrived just before dark. Website says only 7 of 48 reservable so came without a reservation on October 29. Lots of sites available so set up. Could not find any information in the park entrance on how to self register or on website. Left early in the morning as they were starting to oil the road at park entrance and didn't want it all over our vehicles. Felt bad about not paying, but they need to make it convenient for campers. Never camped before without paying.

Polk County

Beautiful little county park. Electric only at site. Water available Dump station. 2 areas both with clean restrooms, but the county has put water savers on everything. The lavatories run such little water that you can hardly wash your hands,,let alone anything else. The showers you have a heck of a hard time rinsing soap off, and washing your hair is next to impossible. $20 a night

Nice park. Level sites. 2 areas each with it's own shower house and host. Close to DM. Has only 9 sites that are reservable so the park fills up quick.
