Sounds Nice On Paper.....
We made reservations for this campground this year after reading the reviews and what they offer on the site. However, once we got there we were not impressed. Their trails are not marked well at all. The trail maps do not match the trails. The bike trails are blocked with fallen trees. The site said they have a camp store but we get there to find out that it's under renovation and to get to a camp store you have to go out of the state park. The beach wasn't bad. Still a far bike ride for little kids. The showers and bathrooms were kept up with but not very clean. I wouldn't go again. I wasn't impressed with this park at all. Their sight does not say anything about not having a camp store available in the park. You've been warned.

Nice Park, Huge Campground
This campground is massive, with over 400 sites! Luckily, I pulled in on a Sunday night during the off season and had the entire place to myself. The sites are medium sized, with mostly grass in between, so not a lot of privacy, but some do back up onto wooded areas. There was lots of wildlife, deer, bald eagles, etc. The park has lots of trails and a disc golf course. It's a nice place, but if you don't like crowds, I'd recommend trying to avoid busy weekends, as this could easily become a mad house!

Great Place To Camp!
We live 5 miles away, so this is our go to campground a lot of the time when we haven’t planned a trip but want to relax. Most of the sites are great, there’s a few that get water logged so you just have to be careful but overall it’s a great park with lots to do and most spaces are generous. Clean facilities, clean park, helpful staff, nice campstore, big beach with ample parking, great boating too. Highly recommend.

Very nice facility. Decent campgrounds. There is a full Hookup loop. Property including large reservoir is well managed. Lots of wildlife. A very nice place to get away to. Town of Peru only 7 miles away.
