Bugs!
So many bugs and no see ums made camping miserable. Park is beautiful. We are used to bugs where we live on the gulf coast but this was unbelievable.

Bugs
The bugs will eat you alive , but this place is great if you like to fish and watch sea life. Plenty of dolphins and birds to enjoy.

We spent 5 nights here and loved it. On warm calm days the No-see-ums are bad and regular screens won’t keep them out. We will book a waterfront site for next year. Good fishing, beaches and restaurants in area. Sites are smaller than most state parks, but it’s on the inlet with great views.

Bring Spray - Watch Weather.
Love this Park. Will you find that the inside sites, not Waterfront, have significantly less bugs sunrise sunset. But still need to bring spray because the biting insects are 100% on scale of 100. The park has lots to do, such as fishing, hiking, Museum, playgrounds, and general sightseeing on Inlet. The park is also super clean, dog friendly, and easy to get in and out of with large motorhome. And the swimming is fantastic in cove across from camp site but need bikes or cart to get to.

Location Is Fantastic But That's All
This is a state park. Repeat...a state park so know that going in. Views on the front by water are nice, closer to bushes the big factor goes way up which is major drawback to this park. Even in winter months bugs can be a challenge and don't even talk about summer. Wow. However the fishing boating and general cool location for sportsman is I parallel and more than make up for the bugs. Facilities are very state parkish. They do the best with what they have. The staff are friendly and really add to the ambiance. They know they work in a cool place!

Water surrounds this park. Very picturesque...gorgeous sunsets. Great for fishing, walk to the pier, beach, biking. Nice sized lots, some are treed. Lots on the back row are on a bit of a slope. Bugs (no see-um's) in this park. Shopping is at a bit of a distance. Lots on the front row have great water views.
