Great Campground...But
To the point:
Campground set in desert setting few trees other camp sites visible for a long way...no privacy.
Excellent view of mountain range to the west.
If high winds expect trailer to rock a little.
Good mountain bike paths with in park. We did 2 20 mike rides. Not very good for road bikes on paths (uneven pavement), but many bikers the roads.
Lots of Denver campers with boats.
We had enough here after 3 days.

Just As Beautiful In The Winter
The Host Denise was very kind and when we got there late around 10pm she was still up and welcomed me. Stayed in #5 and it had beautiful views of the lake and camp ground which was basically empty. Wild life is still active, saw two deer at the very top of the hill next to our site, overall just a gorgeous place, my family loved it. No sewer hook up only water and electric, we stayed for 1 night so it did not matter to us, dump station very close by. I will definitely be coming back in spring to hit the trails. $9 for park fee is separate unless you get the annual which is less. I definitely recommend to all.

Smoked Out
The smoke is so bad you can't see the hill your next to. We ask about canceling because of the smoke and the park private consionair was pretty much to bad for you your paying the cancels fee anyway. Its up to you to decide if you can breathe or not

Great Views
We spent two nights at campsite #5. What a view of the lake and the plateaus just to the south. Was able to hike around the many trails next to the campground. Also a great place to ride mountain bikes if you are in to that. If you have a kayak or boat, even better!! Camp hosts were very friendly and the neighbors are not too close.

Nice place just as advertised. The kids liked the playground. A lot more people over the weekends. We stayed Fri thru Tues and it was much quieter after Sunday night.

Perfect
This is a beautiful campground that backs up to the best MTB trails in the park. It also offers easy access to the marina for boating or the lake for fishing. There are also paved trails right from the campground that go across the dam and around the lake/river. We arrived mid-day Saturday w/o reservations and had no trouble finding a nice pull-thru. It was the off-season but absolutely beautiful weather so it was hard to know how crowded it would be. The bathroom/shower was absolutely spotless, and it didn’t seem to be in high demand considering only one open per gender and there were a number of tent campers nearby. Would definitely come back!

Amazing Site
We checked every campground from Colorado Springs to here and they were all full. This site did not have online reservations at the time. They will have it soon. Plenty of sites open. $7 Park pass, $24 camp site with electricity 30/50. Very quiet. Full dump sure with portable water.
