Nothing Special
Average park. Sites are fairly long, but every one curves, making them a bit of a chore to get a longer rig level. Only Loop C bathroom was open in February, but it was clean. Okay for a one night stay. Cost was $37, plus a $10 Park Entrance fee.

Great State Park
This state park was clean, up kept, and had large level sites with trees, grass, fire rings. Quick walk to bathrooms with showers, laundry and the beach. Electric at the sites with several potable water sources scattered around to fill up from. Marina also on site with a small store for snacks, firewood, and boats to rent. Very pleased with this campground!

Rangers And Rules
As others have mentioned, this park is clean, sites are level, and the bathroom is open year round. All good as far as that goes. But the rangers are constantly roaming the park like so many ants at a picnic. My day pass was not immediately visible in the windshield so three of them—yes, three rangers—knocked on my door and demanded to see it, threatening me with a $100 fine since it wasn’t displayed. I spent three nights here, and I can’t tell if crime is a problem in this park, requiring the frequent presence of law enforcement, or if it is all to do with the $10 day pass fee. There are also rules plastered everywhere. If you’re looking for a quiet place where you can be left alone, this might not be it. I’ve never stayed in a Colorado State park before, so maybe they’re all like this, but the rangers seem to be making a round every hour or so and it’s just too much.

Meet A Ranger
Was there for 2 day's, both day's a Ranger knocked on my door in the early morning. First time I was asked about an incident that happened before I arrived. The next day a Ranger knocked and asked where I was from.. I wouldn't go back there if it was free!

Pretty Place. Quiet In October
Nice pretty campground by the lake. Newer playground. Quiet place. $36 per night for camping and then evidently an additional day pass per vehicle of $10 (we didnt know about it so we didnt pay it) Booked online easily. Only stayed for the night but I'm sure there's lots to do. Even with the additional $10 pass, it is still cheaper than the surrounding KOAs.

Way To Excessive
We go camping with a group of people to have fun with friends!!! The park rangers totally sucked the fun out of this camping trip. Their visits we’re way too excessive. They complained about our kids driving RC cars, about the kids riding bikes, about the kids riding their hoverboards, about the kids being too loud. Apparently they do not want children to have any fun what so ever. With all of these visit we would have expected the campground to be top notch... Not so much!!! No water at the sites making it very inconvenient to fill the tank. Very small uneven dirt sites, we couldn’t even park our truck at our site with our camper. The dump station was about 100 away from our site and it stunk so badly and even worse when someone was actually dumping. The trash dumpsters were so full that people had to put trash next to them which was gross. Over all a horrible experience, we will never go back!

Decent Spot
30/50 amp service at each space, water to fill up scattered throughout. Spaces are pretty close, offering little privacy. Proximity to I-25 in Northern Colorado makes this a convenient stop-over or a good place for locals to make an early-season tune up run close to home. Because of this proximity, the park is also extremely busy on weekends. Decent selection of fishing spots is only a 5 min walk from the campground.

Barking Dogs
Nice enough place for a night, but all day long there were dogs barking, starting at 6am. People are so inconsiderate. The pay showers are a pain.

Gouge The Public
Way over priced at $36/night plus $9 day pass, charge for showers, only single garbage dump on other end of park, no water hookups. Colorado parks are exclusively for the better healed travelers. Shame on you park managers!

No Water On Site
Be aware you will pay for your site and then extra 9$ for a park pass per day. But very convenient to the national Park and surrounding shopping. Awesome state park.

Clean Park But You Pay
Clean park but you have to pay for the campsite, then you have to pay to get into the state park to get to your campground, then you have to pay for showers... Might as well pay the same overall and get a site with full hookup istead of electric only.

Nice But Annoying
This is a nice, clean park. There is no water hookup at your site but various spots around the campground have the spigot to fill up your tank. I've never had so many park rangers knock on the door to see the tag which was displayed on the front windshield as directed. This was annoying as we tried to sleep in late one morning and got woken up by them. Also, we wanted to extend one night so we contacted the office but they dont take payment over the phone so we had to unhook everything and drive to the office to make a payment for the extra night, this was a bit inconvenient. Also, the coin machine for laundry didn't work. Other than the stuff mentioned above this was a nice park for the price.

Nice Park
This a nice park. It is about 15 minutes off the I25. There is space for larger rigs . We stayed in a 35 ft 5th wheel.

A Great Place to Stay
Have been staying at Boyd Lake State Park during the Colorado Sparkler Softball Tournament. The park is beautiful with a great view of the Rockies. The staff is friendly. The bathroom and shower facilities are always clean. The showers are quarter operated. One minute per quarter with a 3 minute minimum. It is a great central location if you are playing the sparkler.
