Very Nice Campground On Animas River
I have a 45’ class A with a tag axle, and was pulling a 20 ft trailer. Overall length is closer to 70 ft. The park is tight but it’s right on the river, the owner helped me get parked and unload my trailer. I had to park the trailer in a separate spot but it was no problem, the park is very quiet and safe. The pizza joint is great, the arcade was fun, the store in the office has basics which we really appreciated. It’s about 15 minutes to Durango and 45 minutes to Silverton, it’s a great location if you want to play around Silverton but need to run to Durango to get supplies. As others have noted, this park is a KOA now. I guess they had some damage due to a fire, so the park has been redone and seems very new. We will definitely be back, I wish we had stayed longer this time. The family who runs it is very helpful and friendly.

One Of The Best KOAs
We rolled into this campground without a reservation but that was not a problem. They were able to accommodate us. This place has pizza, an ice cream shop and sits right on a river. By far one of the nicest KOAs we have been to.

LOVED this Place!!!
This is now a KOA. They are rebuilding after the mudslides last year (2018) due to the fires!! They just reopened in May 2019. We got to meet all of the wonderful owners who are making this place better than what it was. You MUST get the Pizza!!! It is to die for!!! Then go get an ice cream from the Ice Cream shop and check out what movie will be showing on the deck nightly. Great place!!

Overall..liked this resort OK
This is a nice resort, but best part about it was the service. The owner and his employees went above and beyond for us. I’m in a wheelchair and wasn’t able to use the spot my family and I had reserved. So, they worked attentively to get us a spot that worked (even though the resort was almost at full). As far as the facilities and such, the full hookup and the shower and restrooms were good, but we were disappointed in WiFi. We could only get a small, random signal. Also, we could barely get AT&T cell service.

Stayed Aug 2016
This is a beautiful campground. We were in spot 1 which was pretty pricey however we loved the site. The sites can be a little close but the setup allows for privacy. We did not use the facilities so I can't comment to those but, the grounds themselves were well maintained and the staff was friendly. It is a step degrade into the park on a curvy road but the roads are spacious on the grounds. There are many amenities including an ice cream shop (they weren't the nicest). It was very peaceful. We will try other places next time because of the price.

A little disappointed. Sites are very cramped. Our site was not level and not suitable for a small trailer that does not have leveling jacks. But the bathrooms and showers were clean and the staff were friendly.

Great Base Camp
Durango has lots to do & this was a good base camp. Ice cream shop open on Fri/Sat was a delight. Playground is great. Wi-Fi signal was so weak, it was non existent, but the cable TV kept our teens calm. Lots of families visit here.

One More thing.
They gave us lots of warnings about bears and keeping our trash inside but yet their dumpsters were overflowing and trash bags piled up next to them.
