Beautiful campground, fantastic garden at the adjacent Discovery Center and miles of splendid paved trails. That being said, the bathrooms were filthy, garbage overflowing, several groups of homeless, two break ins and we hate reservations only. You be the judge.

Reservations Only
30 spaces, with only 7 in the park, but you can't stay unless you make a reservation prior to showing up. Camphost was downright nasty Thank you California for continuing to show me what a horrible state you are!

Reservation Only
There must be a better way to keep homeless people out of the park, I was passing through, heading north. I'm not going to pay a $10 reservation fee for one night! Might as well just ask a $32 fee for a campsite. Scam!

This is the third time we have stayed here and the last. The reservation requirements are not keeping out the homeless. The camp hosts are allowing some to stay there a month at a time in tents and derelict RVs. Today some guy stole a real old RV, crashed it, got it unstuck, was able to get it free, and drove it away. The $10 booking fee was a surprise, as well as the reservation company didn't give me the complete senior discount.

Basic sites, convenient for travelers close to I-5. Apparently going to a reservation system. Nice place

Review update
I just wanted to update my post from yesterday. We recently talked to the campground host and he informed us for the reason going to a "reservation only" system. He said it helps control/limit the number of homeless and also is easier to monitor the 14 day limit. Last night the ranger enforced the 14 day limit on the people "camping" near us. Supposedly they were trying to pull a quick one and list under a different name but still the same people camping. Nice to know the campground is being monitored, the Ranger lives adjacent to the campground.

Hardly Used
Clean, close to I-5, somewhat noisy due to diversion dam operation.
