Weekend Camper
Our family stayed for the July 4th holiday weekend. We reserved their clubhouse for a private party & our cornhole tournament. We got to swim & bbq during the day & a potluck in the evening. There were a few extended stay residents, which we got to know. Our group only cooked so we invited them to our potluck dinner. It was so much fun. A 2 day cornhole tournament, swimming, bbq’ing with family & friends….it doesn’t get any better than that! The extended stay residents were so friendly & so helpful with navigating us to the prime spots to fish, the best steakhouses & restaurants to eat at & the big grocery stores to replenish our refreshments? We had a fantastic time. Our group will definitely be returning. In fact, the same owner has a lodge in Kernville (Kern River Lodge) which our group reserved for our August gathering. It’s beautiful & it’s located right on the River? Can’t wait to go back! A big thank you to the staff & extended stay residents, who were so helpful & friendly?

Ummmmmmm....Yeah, No.
So yeah, the word "resort" is loosly applied here. I'm not sure why Good Sam put their flag here. The ONLY things this park has going for it are the views (incredible!!!) and the staff. Almost every spot is occupied by full-timers who either live in 15-25 year old rigs or crumbling mobile homes. The lots are not even at all and if you ask for a pull-through it is literally driving through one pad into yours. The showers are disgusting and laundry facilities are not much better. Ten minutes after being there one of the residents and her 4 year old daughter walked straight into our trailer and stayed for 30 minutes. The lady spoke maybe 3 times but her daughter was loving having other kids around. The road to the south is pretty but rather difficult to navigate. There are a lot of hairpin turns and switchbacks so watch out. The north road is absolutely gorgeous but even more difficult to drive on. Oh, prepare for 20-70 mph winds! If you can, stay at one of the parks on the lake!!
