Best Alternative
We pulled in at sunset to get a site for the night. Decided to stay two additional nights since we couldn't find a reservation at Joshua Tree NP and it looks like half the RV first-come sites were closed off making it almost impossible for us find a spot for our fifth wheel. Here they have everything we need: wifi, showers, shade, and helpful staff.

The whole facility is very clean. The campsites are full hookup and separated by orleander hedges, each has a camp table and fire pit barrel. Check in staff very friendly and informative. Located a short drive from the East and West entrances to Joshua Tree National Park and many local sites and attractions.

Hidden Gem
SPACIOUS lots with room to spread out. Fire pit barrel and picnic table. Stayed at 206 near the shower house. Good privacy with hedge row between spots. We went with friends and with the design of the electric/water hookups we were able to face each other! Easy access to dump station. Clean restrooms. Neat little lake/pond setup. Paid a small fee, daughter caught two bluegill and made her day. 4/5, would definitely go back. Improves: free WiFi; renovate children’s playground (we don’t use either, just noticed it)

Too Small For The Big RVs
Not set up for the larger rigs. Sharp 90° turns are insane. My 38ft fifth wheel took out trees on every turn. And, I have military grade driving training. Great for small campers and tents. Real large rigs better find Sportsman Park.

Well I must say this is one of the better campsites my wife and I stayed in on our journey from the north! The weather was cooperative and we missed the spring break crowd! The staff was extremely friendly and the grounds around the lake were well kept and relaxing. If I had one complaint that would be the sites were all de composed granite which is fine unless it rains. And don’t follow GPS just take Highway 62 to Sunfair road!

Not Level, Not Even Close.
I gave it 3 stars. Maybe I'm too critical. Sites are spacious and well laid out with privacy hedge between sites. Nicely located with views of open desert. $40 A nite for 2 people and 2 dogs, an acceptable price to me. Pull thru sites, mice office staff. I would have rated it higher but I have a couple gripes. We pulled in with our 27' trailer and long bed 3/4 ton truck after a long day's drive. Was hoping to just hook up and be done with it. Not to be. Site wasn't level front to back and I had to unhitch the truck and lower the tongue way down.I was tired and suffering from a cold so this wasn't part of the plan. Then, the electric post was situated toward the front of the site. I had to get out an extension cord to reach. It should have been in the center. Had I planned to stay a while, this wouldn't have been a problem. Wal-Mart in yucca valley next time for a 1 nite stay.

Sites are not paved so our site was uneven. No dump station at site, but one can dump on the way out. Facilities were clean and the grounds were cute with the little pond and all. Our site had a picnic table and fire pit. Not super close to town, but close enough.

Ok Rv Park. Not a true hookup Site
No dumping next to rv sites. only a dump station next to restroom. No heating in shower room. Just an ok Rv Park given its rate.

This is a good campground especially when the Joshua Tree National Park a Campgrounds are full, which happens often on Fridays, Saturdays, spring break, and holidays. Some camp free, in the open desert/ dry lake bed area before approaching this pay for service campground. While on as unfair Road driving north, turn right onto Sun Mesa or Sunflower Roads, and follow one of these dirt roads for barren Bereau of Land Management Land. However, this Dry Lake should be avoided if heavy precipitation is forecasted.
