Very Nice & Quiet

Trains run by in the distance about every 20 minutes, but they're far enough away they're not much more than white noise. Very clean and pretty level parking lot. This is the better lot for large rigs. There is a hiking trail that starts here and goes through the upper lot, a couple hundred yards away, through the lava flow and then to the crater. You might want to be prepared to do whatever you do to keep mice out of your rig. There is an info board that says they are very active here. Also a good place from which to drive to the ghost town of Amboy, just 10 minutes away. 5 bars AT&T.
