Great Cave, Campground Locked Up
The cave tour was terrific, tour guide Brooke was very knowledgeable and personable, the cafe was unexpected but appreciated, and the gift shop was huge. The nature trail and bat walk were very cool. The road up was paved and patched and repatched again until the last mile when they stopped trying. It's rough but driveable by any vehicle. I towed my 18' trailer up to the top but I do NOT recommend a large motorhome or a much larger trailer; the last quarter mile up is narrow and sharply curved. You can park below and walk up.
The cave access, steps, and wiring were built in the '30s by the CCC. They offer a regular cave tour, a ladder tour, and a "wild" tour that includes climbing over and through pits and formations. The cave is not handicap-friendly; it's all steps and uneven stairs. (Not a complaint, just fyi.)
The campground was a huge disappointment because a lock on the gate even though the signs said camping was available. The next campground was 24 miles away.

Favorite Park Yet!
The most beautiful park we’ve been to in AZ so far.
the roads can only accommodate a max of 30’ rv we came in our 30’ hurricane and the roads are a bit dicey but totally worth it. The cave was great, the staff was awesome and there is a bunch more we didn’t get to see because we were on a time crunch. We did not stay over night but if the rest of the park is like the cave and ranch area I think it would be well worth it.
