Nice!
We stayed in the lower campground for 4 nights in the middle of the week. The site was so level it didn't require levelers at all, but was a bit narrow. We have a small travel trailer so it was not an issue. The sewer was an issue since it was too high, but we pulled into another site to drain the tanks when we left. Out of 30 sites, maybe 6 were occupied so it was very quiet. The upper campground is where the camp store and lots of attractions are, and you must check in there before going to the lower. Pack in what you need since everything is at least 30 minutes away and the restaurant is closed. Camp store is expensive and they had no beer. We had phone service with T-Mobile, no problem.

Beautiful Views
I have traveled through this area many times and never knew these views existed here. We stopped just for the night and didn’t want to leave. The park is very secure with gate codes at the entrance and also into rv area. Our site was nice and very level, we didn’t need blocks and stayed hooked even stayed hooked to the truck, but I noticed other sites not being as level as ours. There are many hiking and biking trails to enjoy. The park also has a cliff side restaurant and pool with great views.

Cheaha Lower Campground
Stayed for three nights. Park is beautiful. Some of the sites are terrible and depending who you talk to they don’t let you reserve the site you want, only assign them at check-in. We reserved several months in advance site specially but ended up with two sites that were below average - narrow, short and not level. We booked two sites supposedly site specific for two 40 foot campers but ended up with reassigned sites and just barely fitting in each of them. Straight across from us were 2 -100 foot beautiful sites that ended up being occupied by different overnighters that had a tiny tent. It’s a very nice campground they just don’t seem to run Alabama state park campgrounds as well as Georgia runs their state park campgrounds. Also there is very little cell service and almost zero Internet as well as zero Wi-Fi of any kind. Not a bad campground but keep these things in mind Hopefully you won’t have the same experience we did getting bumped out of sites for no reason.

Nice Weekend Stay
We stayed at the upper campground for the weekend. The sites look to be recently upgraded, nice and level. Bathhouse was clean. Staff was nice and very accommodating. Would stay again.

Views Are Breathtaking!
Enjoyed our stay during later part of March. Sites were clean, spacious and apparently recently redone. Bath house was very nee and well maintained. The views from our site ( lower 72) are amazing. Staff was very helpful. Only drawback is cell service was spotty and wifi was nonexistant.

Nice Campground, Beautiful State Park
Lower campground more private. If you are staying with kids the beach and better playground are at the lower campground. Not 5 star because campground road need maintenance, lots of dead trees..one actually fell down near an empty campsite. Also lots of fire ants...park needs to take care of fire ant hills. Hiking and biking is great! Might have to drive to the top area a few times for hikes but it's only a mile up the road.

Gorgeous Scenery
This park is only about 1.5 hours away from us. The park has a general store and gas station, a restaurant, pool, lodge and full hookups for RVs. I do agree that the campsites could use a little maintenance but overall they were spacious and quiet. Bath houses were clean and modernized. You dont have to leave the park as there are hiking trails, walks, the pool or lake for swimming and gorgeous scenery everywhere. Staff were friendly. We will definitely go again.

Narrow roads, narrow camp sites, and not very well kept. Aside from that it was a fairly good experience. The staff and volunteers were great and very helpful.

We enjoyed our stay here. The scenery is beautiful. The staff is friendly and helpful. I wish that the spots were maintained better. The shower house was fairly new and well maintained. We were there on the 4th of July and although it was mostly full it was quiet and relaxing.
