While the park was nice it needs some TLC! The trails are great and if you mountain bike it is fantastic. However the beach isn't a beach, it is just grass into murky water. The campgrounds are at the very front of the park so all traffic and day guests are passing through. Day guests were using empty campsite fire pits. Loop one's bathhouse was dirty and run down, the shower curtain was moldy and torn, the AC wasn't working and the stall doors were just plywood (shower was just a curtain so you couldn't lock a door to feel safe) Loop two's bathhouse was nicer and had real doors on the showers it also had AC. However it also needed to be cleaned.
Most campsites were nice and looked mostly level. All but 2 have full hookups.
Tuesday morning I was woken up at 440AM to the trash service picking up the dumpster. The campground has quiet hours and a gate that is supposed to be locked at nice but trash service came at 440AM!!!
Overall I gave it 3 stars because the trails and full hookups.

Great place to stop for the night or longer. Close to I-20 and good roads. Sewer is a plus!

We love Chewacla. Very easy to get to off interstate I -85. Check in was easy. We had site 36. It was perfectly level, crushed limestone. Plenty of room. This park has awesome mountain bike trails and hiking trails. We had sewer hookup too.

One Of The Best State Parks
We were pleasantly surprised by this campground. It has full hook-ups and your daily fees included. The sites are large and easy to access. It’s been one of our favorite stops! Even in the heat of summer the trees keep you cool and the weather is enjoyable!

We stopped here for one night on a trip west. Nice park, bath house was air conditioned!! (90+ day time temps). Shaded pull thru site for our small travel trailer made for an easy stop. Would stop again.

Expensive For Something Not So Special
First night $44. $4 off second night. I’ve stayed at many state parks and this one is the most expensive I’ve ever stayed in and it’s nothing special.

Great For Mountain Bikers And Beautiful
The only reason I give this park 3 stars is there is no Wifi and the bathrooms and showers need some major cleaning. The park itself is a natural charm. Nice waterfall lounging area with big rocks at the end.
Campsites are only at the front! Don't go down the small 2 lane road to the end!
Verizon Jet pack LTE worked fine.
$38 first night and $34 each night after.
