great spot, clear creek, big trees
Super live-on-site operators, frequent patrols keep users respectful of their neighbors. Canyon ends in a deep swimming hole with a gravel beach. Wading pool has been shaped with rocks. No pets or alcohol allowed in this day-use area and rules are enforced. Popular as a swimming hangout especially on hot days. 1km trail above canyon goes through a dense dark forest with moss-laden trees. There is a row of reservable campsites along the crystal clear creek which fill in advance on summer weekends. A creek-side trail follows the creek to allow all campers access to the creek. Gold panning is allowed and there are remnants of unprofitable commercial attempts at gold recovery. Many campsites are walk-up. Most are quite spacious, located in the dense forest. Many are suitable for larger RVs and trailers. Generators are permitted 2 hrs in morn and evening. Verizon cell worked for us. warm days led to cool nights in aug, 2018.

Tranquility Extraordinare
Great big quiet and private sites. Some located right on the Kleanza River, with a salmon spawning show later in the summer. No hookups at all and cell service spotty at best. The sites are just downstream of the gorgeous canyon with a well kept trail to the top of the canyon.
